Now for the update:

The Thai Department of Marine and Coastal Resources (DMCR) told the Phuket Express that an autopsy was conducted on the male dugong on Friday (October 18th). His body was still fresh.

Wounds which seemed to suggest becoming entangled in a net and/or ropes were found on his neck and body. The inside of the dugong’s intestines were found full of sea grass which means that he could still eat as normal before he died.

He died after circulatory shock which is his exact cause of death. The suspected cause of shock was from being entangled in a net.
