A 34-year-old male Italian tourist who got lost in a forest in Sakoo was found safe.
The Sakoo Police told the Phuket Express that they were notified of the missing person from a staffer at a hotel near the Nai Yang Beach. At 10:00 P.M. on Sunday night (October 13th) they received a distress call from Mr. Tomas, 34, Italian national.
He called for help after he was unable to find his way out from aforest near the Pling Island at the Nai Yang Beach. A search was launched by more than 28 officers and locals since then. The search continued on Monday (October 14th) in which they were trying to contact the Italian man on a mobile phone.
At 5:00 P.M. on Monday (October 14th), he was contacted via the WhatsApp application. He told officers that he was safe and had found the way out from the forest by himself at 1:00 P.M.. He was staying at a hotel in Phuket City.
He said thank you to authorities who were trying to help him. The Phuket Express noted that no further details were given about how he finally found his way out from the forest.
