Hotel Cleaner in Patong Arrested after Stealing Almost 1,800 USD from Tourists

Patong –

A hotel cleaner in Patong was arrested after she stole 1,800 USD from tourists.

The Patong Police told the Phuket Express that earlier this week three unidentified foreign tourists filed a report to the police. They told the police that their money which was kept in a room at the hotel was stolen. Police went to the hotel to investigate and asked hotel staffers for entrance and exit information and to review CCTV. A female cleaner who cleaned the room was questioned for being suspicious, said the police, but at first, she denied the accusation of theft. However, after long hours of questioning, she finally admitted to stealing the money.

She gave all the money that she stole to the police. She was taken to the Patong Police Station for further legal action.

The names of both the victims and the suspect, however, were withheld by the Patong police.
