Phuket –
An 82-year-old Swiss national was arrested at the Phuket International Airport with a gun in his luggage.
The Sakoo Police told the Phuket Express that on Monday (October 7th) they arrested a male foreign passenger at the airport. He was found with an automatic ASTRA – CAL 6.35a25 handgun inside his luggage after being x-rayed at the international terminal. On his luggage a name tag identified him only as Mr. Kurt.

Police checked his passport which was also identified as Mr. Kurt, 82, Swiss national. He was taken to the Sakoo Police Station to face charges of illegal possession of firearms.

Mr. Kurt told police that he claimed that he thought a gun without a magazine and bullets could be carried on a plane. He was going to take it back to his country.
