South Korean Man Rescued from Drowning at Island off Phuket

Phuket –

A South Korean national was rescued from drowning at the Racha Island, south of Phuket.

Emergency responders told the Phuket Express that they were notified of the incident from the Phuket Tourist Assistance Center on Monday (October 7th). Emergency responders arrived near the Racha Yai Island off Rawai on a patrol boat.

A 63-year-old male South Korean national was rescued from drowning near the island. He was exhausted but still conscious. He was provided some oxygen while taken on the patrol boat to the Chalong hospital.

The circumstances leading to his near drowning and his identity were withheld by relevant authorities.
