At 2:18 AM on September 29th, 2024, Cherngtalay police officers received a shooting report at a restaurant in Cherngtalay Subdistrict, Thalang District, Phuket.
A security guard at the restaurant, Mr. Korchem Nookul, reported that a foreign male suspect arrived on a motorcycle, and allegedly fired one shot at the restaurant’s window, shattering the glass, before fleeing the scene on his bike.
At 2:58 AM, a second foreign man arrived at the same restaurant and allegedly further smashed the already broken glass. He then fled, and both incidents were reported to the police.
The security guard revealed that a nearby beauty salon was also vandalized during the second attack. Four foreign nationals, riding two motorcycles, were involved in the incidents, according to the security guard.
Earlier that evening, there had been a heated argument between foreign individuals near the restaurant, said Korchem, which is suspected to be connected to the attack. The restaurant owner also believes the same group of foreigners was responsible. Forensic teams and police are reviewing CCTV footage to track down the suspects.
