Patong –
A sea turtle was rescued after washing up at Patong Beach.
The Thai Department of Marine and Coastal Resources (DMCR) told the Phuket Express that over the past weekend they were notified from a lifeguard at the beach about the incident. They arrived at the location in question to find a young Green Sea Turtle whose gender could not be identified.
The weak turtle is 33 centimeters wide, 35 centimeters long, and weighs 5.9 kilograms. Wounds and shipworms were found on its head and shell. It was taken to the Sireetarn Marine Endangered Animal Rescue Center in Wichit for further medical treatment before being released back to the sea.
