Kusoldharm Foundation in Phuket Helps Chiang Rai Flood Victims

The Kusoldharm Foundation from Phuket is delivering food and items which were donated from people in Phuket for flood victims in Chiang Rai. They also sent a rescue team with equipment to join in rescue operations in Chiang Rai.

On September 12th, 2024, Thai national media reported that heavy flooding in Chiang Rai’s municipal areas worsened overnight, driven by large water masses flowing in from Chiang Mai.

The Mae Fah Luang Chiang Rai International Airport has announced a cancelation of flights until further notice due to severe flooding.

Now for the update:

The foundation announced their plan to help flood victims in Chiang Rai on Thursday morning (September 12th). People in Phuket donated lots of food, clothing, and water until a storage hall was full.

These supplies were put into trucks which headed to Chiang Rai on Thursday night and arrived in Chiang Rai on Friday (September 13th).

The Phuket Provincial Administrative Chief Officer Mr. Suwit Suriyawong, the President of the Kusoldharm Foundation, Mr. Lek Tantiwongpaisarn, and the director of the Phuket Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department (Phuket DDPM) Mr. Sophon Thongsai joined a rally to mark the launch of the supplies to Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai.

The foundation has also sent two rescue cars, two trucks, and two minivans with 15 rescuers to join in the support operation at the flooded areas in Chiang Rai.
