Thai Royal Command Issued: Prime Minister Paetongtarns Cabinet Takes Shape

On September 4th, 2024, the Royal Thai Government Gazette published a royal command appointing new ministers under the administration of Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra.

His Royal Majesty the King, Maha Vajiralongkorn, endorsed the appointment of the following individuals as ministers, effective immediately:

  1. Mr. Phumtham Wechayachai as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense
  2. Mr. Suriya Juangroongruangkit as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport
  3. Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior
  4. Mr. Pirapan Salirathavibhaga as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy
  5. Mr. Pichai Chunhavajira as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance
  6. Mr. Prasert Chanthararuangthong as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Economy and Society
  7. Mr. Chusak Sirinil as Minister to the Prime Minister’s Office
  8. Ms. Jiraporn Sindhuprai as Minister to the Prime Minister’s Office
  9. Gen. Nattaphon Narkphanit as Deputy Minister of Defense
  10. Mr. Chulaphan Amornvivat as Deputy Minister of Finance
  11. Mr. Paopoom Rojanasakul as Deputy Minister of Finance
  12. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa as Minister of Foreign Affairs
  13. Mr. Sorawong Thienthong as Minister of Tourism and Sports
  14. Mr. Varawut Silpa-archa as Minister of Social Development and Human Security
  15. Ms. Supamas Isarabhakdi as Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation
  16. Ms. Narumon Pinyosinwat as Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives
  17. Mr. Itthi Sirilathayakorn as Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives
  18. Mr. Akara Prompao as Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives
  19. Ms. Manaporn Charoensri as Deputy Minister of Transport
  20. Mr. Surapong Piyachote as Deputy Minister of Transport
  21. Mr. Chalermchai Sri-on as Minister of Natural Resources and Environment
  22. Mr. Pichai Naripthaphan as Minister of Commerce
  23. Mr. Napintorn Srisanpang as Deputy Minister of Commerce
  24. Mr. Suchart Chomklin as Deputy Minister of Commerce
  25. Mr. Songsak Thongsri as Deputy Minister of Interior
  26. Ms. Sabeeda Thaised as Deputy Minister of Interior
  27. Ms. Theerarat Samrejvanich as Deputy Minister of Interior
  28. Pol. Col. Tawee Sodsong as Minister of Justice
  29. Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn as Minister of Labor
  30. Ms. Sudawan Wangsuphakijkosol as Minister of Culture
  31. Pol. Gen. Permpoon Chidchob as Minister of Education
  32. Mr. Surasak Phancharoenworakul as Deputy Minister of Education
  33. Mr. Somsak Thepsutin as Minister of Public Health
  34. Mr. Dech-it Khaothong as Deputy Minister of Public Health
  35. Mr. Akanat Prompan as Minister of Industry

The appointments are effective immediately. Following the royal command, the Secretariat of the Cabinet informed the Prime Minister and the newly appointed ministers to prepare for the swearing-in ceremony scheduled on Friday, September 6th, 2024, at 5:00 PM at the Amphorn Sathan Residential Hall, a royal mansion in Bangkok.
