New Zealander Rescues Dolphin at Phuket Beach

Phuket –

A New Zealander rescued a sick dolphin at a beach in Thalang on Wednesday morning (August 28th).

The Sireetarn Marine Endangered Animals Rescue Center in Wichit were notified that a dolphin had washed up onto the Nai Thorn Beach in the Sakoo sub-district.

An unidentified New Zealander told the Phuket Express that he was walking along the beach when he saw the stranded dolphin on the sand. He and lifeguards were trying to push the dolphin back to the sea but the dolphin was weak.

Staffers from the animal rescue center arrived at the beach to find the sick Bottle Nose Dolphin. It was taken to the Sireetarn Marine Endangered Animals Rescue Center for further treatment.

The New Zealand man, who declined to be identified and recognised by name, was praised by the officials for his assistance.
