Three Myanmar Nationals Arrested for Selling Untaxed Products in Koh Pha Ngan

Surat Thani – Three Myanmar nationals were arrested at a local grocery store in the Koh Pha Ngan area after being found selling untaxed products from their home country.

The arrests were made by the Surat Thani Immigration Office, who reported the incident to the Phuket Express. The suspects were identified as Ms. Aye Ae Khaing Oo, 37, Mr. Soe Min Naing, 27, and Mr. Phyo Wai Soe, 28.

The trio were apprehended at a grocery store in the Koh Pha Ngan sub-district. Authorities seized cigarettes and 89 other food products from the Myanmar nationals. The suspects were subsequently taken to the Koh Pha Ngan Police Station.

Ms. Aye Ae Khaing Oo faces multiple charges, including operating a business (retail shop) without permission, working without permission (salesperson), selling untaxed products, illegal possession of untaxed cigarettes, and aiding migrant workers who illegally entered the country to avoid arrest.

Mr. Soe Min Naing is charged with working without permission (salesperson), while Mr. Phyo Wai Soe faces charges of entering the country without permission. All three suspects have admitted to the charges against them.
