A man has been arrested after he was trying to sexually assault a female customer who was waiting inside a dental clinic in Rassada.
The Phuket City Police were notified of the incident on Friday (August 16th) at 7:20 P.M. from an unidentified dental clinic located on the Rassada Ramluek Road. They arrived at the clinic to find the victim and staffers who told police that the prime suspect was chased away by witnesses outside the clinic.
Police checked CCTV footage in the clinic and saw that the suspect who seemed to be intoxicated entered the clinic and staffers asked him if he needed dental assistance as they thought he was a customer. The suspect then instead, however, asked the clinic for some money.
Staffers told the suspect that they didn’t have money to give him. The suspect then approached an unidentified female customer who was waiting for a dentist on a sofa. He then reportedly tried to sexually assault the victim. A male good Samaritan came into the clinic before chasing the suspect away.
The female victim, identified only as Ms. B (alias) told the police that the suspect touched her breast and kissed her check. She was very shocked and she wanted to take serious legal action against the suspect.
At 9:20 P.M. on the same day police found the suspect one kilometer from the clinic. He was taken to a hospital for a mental health check before being taken to the Phuket City Police Station.
His name was not released by the police due to concerns about mental health issues.
