Sea Turtles Lays 116 Eggs on Beach in Phang Nga

Phang Nga –

A sea turtle laid 116 eggs on a beach in the Khura Buri district.

Staffers from the Mu Ko Similan National Park told the Phuket Express that on Tuesday (August 13th) in the morning they found a trace of a sea turtle mother laying eggs on a beach at the Meang Island in the national park area.

The sea turtle mother is believed to be a green turtle. Staffers found a sea turtle nest on the beach following its traces. In total, 116 sea turtle eggs were found inside the nest.

The eggs were relocated to a safer area on the beach where sea water could not reach the nest. The park officials stated that the baby sea turtles should hatch in about 60 days.
