At 5:00 AM on August 10th, 2024, the Thai Meteorological Department issued a weather forecast for the next 24 hours.
Daytime temperatures are set to rise due to a weakening southwest monsoon over the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand, coupled with a low-pressure area over northern Vietnam.
Northern and upper southern Thailand will experience light rain, while heavy downpours are expected in the upper Northeast and lower South. Residents in these regions are advised to stay alert for potential flash floods and landslides, especially in mountainous areas and low-lying regions.
Additionally, with moderate sea conditions in the upper Andaman Sea, particularly from Ranong province upward, waves could reach 1-2 meters, rising to over 2 meters during storms. Mariners are urged to avoid sailing in stormy areas during this period.
