Taxi Driver Incident in Patong Under Investigation

Patong, August 6th – A local taxi driver is under investigation following allegations of chasing a mobile application taxi driver in Patong. The incident, captured in a viral video on social media, has drawn significant attention.

According to the Patong Police, the video was posted by the mobile application taxi driver involved. The police have since launched an investigation into the matter.

At 9:00 A.M. on Tuesday, the local taxi driver, identified only as Mr. Udom, was summoned to the Patong Police Station. He explained that he had picked up five passengers from a hotel in Patong and was heading to Karon. During his journey, he allegedly followed another taxi, honking his horn and signaling his intention to overtake.

Mr. Udom denied the allegations of chasing the other taxi, as suggested by the social media video. He stated that he did not know the other driver and was unaware that the other taxi was picking up passengers.

The Patong Police are attempting to contact the mobile application taxi driver for further information, but have yet to receive a response. The investigation remains ongoing.
