Body Found Floating Near Coconut Island in Phuket

A male body was found floating near the Coconut Island in Koh Kaew on Wednesday (July 31st).

The Phuket City Police told the Phuket Express that they were notified of the body being found at 2:00 P.M. They arrived at the scene to find the male body facing down and stuck on several rocks. No signs of a struggle or fight were found on the body as well as any identification documents.

Police believed that the man died at least 24 hours before his body was recovered.

Meanwhile on Tuesday (July 30th) at 6:00 P.M., the Phuket Fisheries Office was notified from relatives who said that the owner of a local fishing boat, Mr. Maitree Sripromrat, went out into the sea with his fishing boat heading to the Coconut Island. He did not return back in the morning as usual.

His relatives have yet to confirm the body is Mr. Sripromrat, however.
