Thai PM Praises Public Confidence as Digital Wallet Initiative Drives App Surge

National —

On July 30th, 2024, Thai Government spokesperson Chai Watcharong announced a significant increase in the usage of the “Thang Raj” application following a detailed briefing on the “10,000-baht Digital Wallet” scheme.

Since July 24th, 2024, the Thai government invited smartphone users interested in the “10,000-baht Digital Wallet” scheme to register via the “Thang Raj” app from August 1st to September 15th.

As a result, the average daily usage of the “Thang Raj” app has surged from 50,000-60,000 to 800,000-900,000, a tenfold increase.

Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin acknowledged the significant rise in app usage, attributing it to the public’s positive response and confidence in the government’s economic stimulus policies, said Chai.

The government is committed to alleviating debt, reducing expenses, improving living standards, and driving economic momentum towards establishing a robust digital economy foundation for Thailand, remarked Chai.

Furthermore, the Ministry of Digital Economy has prepared over 500 staff members to assist with system operations, resolve issues, and answer registration-related queries via hotline 1111, available 24/7.
