Phuket —
On July 27th, 2024, Phuket Provincial Administrative Organization President Mr. Rewat Areerob and related agencies inaugurated the 2nd Phuket Surftival at Karon Beach, Phuket.
Phuket Surftival aims to boost the economy starting with the Kata-Karon community, promoting a new model of sustainable tourism that values resources, reduces global warming, and encourages youth participation in surfing.
The event highlights the potential of young local surfers, who could become future national athletes, and promotes Surf Economics to drive economic growth and attract global tourists to Phuket.
In addition to surfing competitions, the event showcases local talents through marine activities, community booths, arts and crafts, upcycling workshops, local coffee brewing, food, drinks, music, and DJ performances. An exhibition on the connection between surfing and the community aims to create jobs and distribute tourism income locally.
The two-day event, held on July 27-28, 2024, at Karon Beach, invites tourists to relax by the sea, enjoy performances, and savor local delicacies from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
