Oil stains were found on a beach in the Takua Pa district in Phang Nga.
Deputy Mayor of the Khuk Khak Sub-District Administrative Organization Mr. Sirithorn Buakaew told the Phuket Express that earlier this week they were notified that oil stains were found on Memory Beach.
They inspected the beach to find some oil stains which had washed up along the beach. The oil stains have also affected swimmers and surfers at the beach.
Staffers from the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department have since cleaned up oil stains from the beach. Samples of oil were collected to investigate the source.
