Surat Thani –

A Nigerian drug suspect, arrested on Pha Ngan Island, was found to have overstayed his visa by eight years and claimed he was using magic to hide himself.

The Koh Pha Ngan Tourist Police informed the Phuket Express that they arrested a suspect identified only as Mr. Kenneth, a 47-year-old Nigerian national, on Sunday (July 21st) at a luxury hotel. During the arrest, 31.5 grams of cocaine were seized from him. He was found to have overstayed his visa by 3,214 days.

Mr. Kenneth was taken to the Koh Pha Ngan Police Station to face charges of illegal possession of category 2 drugs and overstaying his visa. He is currently awaiting deportation.

He told the police that he placed drugs for orders from foreigners at specific locations. He also claimed that he had special magic to camouflage himself and become invisible when delivering drugs. However, he admitted that he had forgotten to use this “invisible magic” before his arrest.
