On July 20th, 2024, Buddhists from Thalang and nearby areas in Phuket participated in a historic sea parade for Phra Sivali. The procession began at Sarasin Bridge and concluded at the Baramee Dhamma Hermitage in Baan Dan Yid.
Deputy Governor of Phuket, Mr. Adul Chuthong, presided over the ceremony, accompanied by Thalang District Chief, Mr. Pairot Srilamul, and other relevant officials.
Before the sea parade, Phra Sivali was stationed at Sarasin Bridge from July 16-19, allowing devotees and tourists to pay respects and seek blessings. Phra Sivali, revered as the Arhat of Fortune, symbolizes the essence of merit.
Mr. Wiwat Jindaphon, an advisor to the Chairman of the Government Administration Commission, highlighted the significance of this inaugural sea parade. He noted that it was a grand event, aimed at installing Phra Sivali at the Baramee Dhamma Hermitage for worship and blessings, ensuring prosperity and good fortune for individuals and families.
