Communication Radios and Repeaters Seized from Hotel in Thalang

Forty unregistered communications radios and three unregistered repeaters were seized from a hotel in Cherng Talay.

The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) told the Phuket Express that they recently raided a hotel in Cherng Talay with a search warrant from the Phuket Provincial Court.

They found an illegal radio station was set up inside the hotel. Seized from them were 40 unregistered communication radios and three unregistered repeaters CB 245 (citizen band). All items seized were taken to the Cherng Talay Police Station. Officials did not mention if anyone was arrested.

The NBTC has warned anyone who illegally sets up a citizen band (CB 245) and repeaters that they must stop or legal action will be taken.

The name of the hotel was withheld by Cherng Talay police.
