A suspect was arrested after he stole a pet cat in Wichit which was caught on CCTV footage.
The Wichit Police told the Phuket Express that on Tuesday (July 16th) they arrested a suspect identified only as Mr. Natthaphon, 32. He was arrested while he was stealing equipment from a backhoe in Wichit.
Natthaphon admitted to the police that he stole the pet cat and says he didn’t mean any harm but he is a cat lover. He saw the white cat while it was walking nearby and claimed he thought it had no owner and was a stray. He grabbed the cat and put it under his motorbike seat. When he arrived at his accommodation, he opened the motorbike seat but the cat ran away.
Natthaphon was taken to the Wichit Police Station to face charges of theft. Police found that the suspect is a serial thief in many areas in Wichit. Meanwhile, the cat owner has filed formal legal charges in a report to the Wichit Police.
