UPDATE: Taxi Motorbike Riders Charged after Attacking Kuwaiti in Patong

Three taxi motorbike riders have been charged after they allegedly attacked a Kuwaiti tourist in Patong.

Three taxi motorbike riders appeared to attack a foreigner near a taxi stall in Patong, according to a viral social media video.

Now for the update:

The Patong Police told the Phuket Express that a 30 year-old male Kuwaiti tourist was attacked by three taxi motorbike riders at 1:46 A.M. today, July 15th, 2024. He was taken to a nearby hospital before he filed a report to the police.

Police tracked down the three taxi riders. They were called to the police station and a urine drugs test was conducted on all three men which all came up negative. However, the three suspects were charged with bodily assault causing physical and emotional injuries.

The Patong Police also reported the incident to the Phuket Land Transport Office (PLTO). The Phuket Express noted that the Patong Police did not mention what had happened before the incident or identify the suspects or victim by name.
