Two people have escaped serious injuries after a cement truck overturned on Kamala Hill on Wednesday (July 10th).
The Kamala Police were notified of the accident at 3:20 P.M.. They and the Phuket Express arrived at the scene to find the overturned cement truck on the road. Liquid cement was found spread across the road as well.
The male driver and his girlfriend sustained only minor injuries. The unidentified driver told police that the cement truck had a brake failure when the truck was going down the hill at a curve. He decided to crash into the roadside barriers to avoid crashing with other vehicles.
Both the driver and his girlfriend were taken to a nearby hospital. A firetruck was called to the scene to clean up the road.
The Kamala Police told the Phuket Express that the driver is facing charges of reckless driving and damaging property. His name was not released to the media.
