Head-On Collision on Patong Hill: Foreigner Steals Car and Crashes into Van

Phuket, Patong:

On July 6th at 8:19 p.m., chaos erupted on Patong Hill in Phuket Province. A foreigner had stolen a car and collided head-on with a van while speeding. The impact left two people injured and the foreigner trapped inside the wrecked vehicle.

At the scene, a white Toyota van was found with its front end completely destroyed. The foreign man, stuck in the driver’s seat area, struggled to free himself. Emergency responders from the Patong Charity Foundation and the Kusontham Foundation worked together to extract him. He suffered injuries to his right leg and was taken to Patong Hospital.

A black Hyundai van was also involved in the collision. Its front end was severely damaged, and the driver, Mr. Sompong Rueangchan, sustained minor injuries.

The police promptly documented the scene and cleared the obstructing vehicles. Further investigation revealed that the shirtless foreign man had stolen the white Toyota van while its owner was buying durian at a nearby gas station. The pursuit led to the unfortunate collision.

Law enforcement detained the foreigner for questioning as they continued their legal procedures. The foreigner was not immediately identified and some reports from witnesses said that the man appeared to be intoxicated or on illegal drugs and was incoherent and confused.
