Thai Prime Minister Visits Phuket to Follow Up on Transportation Project

Phuket –

Thailand’s Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin arrived in Thalang on Friday (July 5th) to follow up on an underpass construction project at the Heroine Monument.

Prime Minister Srettha met with relevant authorities in Phuket including the Phuket Governor Sophon Suwannarat. The underpass at the Tharuea Intersection (Heroine Monument) on the No. 402 Road intersects with the No. 4027 Road. The area is the main route to enter and exit Phuket Town.

The construction project started by removing power lines and poles on both sides of the road to prepare for the next steps.

Prime Minister Srettha urged authorities to ensure that the construction should cause limited negative effects to residents and tourists. Bypass roads to avoid the construction area are very necessary.

The construction has to be finished on the previously scheduled time to avoid negative effects on the economy, Srettha added.
