Myanmar Man Seriously Injured After Armed Assault By Supposed Friend in Patong

A Myanmar man has sustained severe injuries after he was slashed with a sharp weapon by his supposed Myanmar friend in Patong on Thursday (July 4th) over a dispute involving illegal drugs.

The Patong Police told the Phuket Express that at 10:00 P.M. on the day in question they arrested Mr. AUMA AYMEOO, 32, a Myanmar national.

Seized from him was a 50 centimeter long sword. On the same day, the suspect allegedly used the sword to slash Mr. MYAT MAW MAW, 34, a Myanmar national at an abandoned house in Soi Khok Mhoo on the Sirirat Road in Patong. The victim had injured his head and chest with deep slash wounds.

He was taken to a nearby hospital.

Police took only half an hour to arrest the suspect. He admitted to the police that he was angry after he gave the victim money to buy an illegal drug. However, the victim did not give the drug to him. The Patong Police told the Phuket Express that the suspect was taken to the Patong Police Station to face a charge of intent to murder.
