Woman Arrested in Phuket Allegedly Involved in Investment Scam

Phuket –

A woman was arrested in Chalong after allegedly being involved in an investment scam with many victims in Bangkok.

The Crime Suppression Division Police told the Phuket Express that earlier this week they arrested a suspect identified only as Ms. Kanthida at a rental house in Chalong. She is being accused of fraud and importing false information into a computer system causing damage to others.

The suspect claimed that she is a staffer from an online selling application. She persuaded victims to invest with her by promoting products and received commission. At first, victims received good benefits.

When they invested more, the suspect claimed that the promotion had failed. Victims later realized that she was a scammer. They then filed reports to the Khannayao Police in Bangkok.

Ms. Kanthida was taken back to the Khannayao Police Station for further legal action.
