Phuket Warned of Possible Flash Floods

The Office of the National Water Resources (ONWR) has issued a warning regarding heavy rain and potential flash floods in Phuket.

According to Mr. Surasri Kittimonton, Secretary of the ONWR, the period from July 3rd to July 8th is expected to bring increased rainfall, particularly in areas near mountains and basins. On Sunday, July 7th, Phuket may experience heavy rain, and residents in these vulnerable areas should closely monitor the situation for possible flash floods.

In the past week, several regions worldwide have encountered heavy rain due to rapidly changing weather conditions. Notably, during one such event, Phuket received over 347 millimeters of rain within a span of more than four hours, causing significant flooding and damage as we reported here.
