1. Thai Police Civil Service Commission Unanimously Validates Temporary Suspension of Police General Surachate Hakparn.

Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin presided over a meeting of the Police Civil Service Commission (PCSC). The primary agenda was to evaluate the findings of the Police Civil Service Subcommittee on Disciplinary Actions concerning the legality of the temporary suspension of Pol. Gen. Surachate “Big Joke” Hakparn, which they agreed to continue the suspension despite more legal threats from Pol. Gen. Hakparn.

2. A mountain in a public park in Mueang Phang Nga district collapsed after an earthquake was reported in the nearby area, despite the earthquake being minor.

The incident is called a Rock Fall. The mountain is limestone with a high slope and collapsed after heavy rain had continued during the past week. Luckily, nobody was injured during the incident.

3. Lalisa ‘Lisa’ Manoban has stunned the world with her new song ‘Rockstar’. Most of the scenes in the music video were recorded in Thailand, especially in the historic Yaowarat area in Bangkok.

The government is set to capitalize on the recent surge in popularity of Bangkok’s Yaowarat district, following its feature in a music video by Thailand’s Lalisa Manoban, aka Lisa Blackpink.

4. Public Health Minister Somsak Thepsuthin discussed the potential reclassification of cannabis as a type 5 narcotic after opening the proposal for public consultation from June 11th to 25th.

The government’s official stance is against all recreational use, remarked Somsak.

5. Mr. Chai Watcharong, the Thai Government spokesperson, announced that Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin will inaugurate the “LOVE PRIDE PARADE 2024” and join the longest grand parade in Asia at 6 kilometers, to conclude Pride Month on June 30th.

This event supports the government’s Soft Power strategy under the Rainbow Economy approach. The event was widely seen as a major success.
