Almost 1,500 People Suffer Negative Impacts from Phuket Flooding.

In total 740 families in Phuket are suffering from flooding on Sunday (June 30th).

On June 30th, 2024, Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Suriya Juangroongruangkit announced that heavy rainfall on the night of June 29th, combined with flash floods from the mountains, caused severe flooding in many areas in Phuket.

Now for the update:

The Phuket Department of Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) told the Phuket Express that two districts have been heavily damaged by the floods. In total seven sub-districts, 41 villages, four communities, 740 families and 1,468 people are being affected negatively after the flooding.

In the Kathu district there are two sub-districts, six villages, and four communities with 45 people and 50 families negatively affected.

  • Six villages in the Kamala sub-district

In Thalang district there are five sub-districts and 35 villages, 690 families, and 1,423 people negatively affected.

  • Eight villages in the Sri Sunthorn sub-districts
  • Eleven villages in the Thep Krasattri sub-district
  • Six villages in the Cherng Talay sub-district
  • Nine villages in the Paklok sub-district
  • One village in the Sakoo sub-district
