Dolphin Found Dead on Phang Nga Beach

A male dolphin was found dead on a beach in the Takua Pa district.

The Department of Marine and Coastal Resources (DMCR) told the Phuket Express that on Wednesday (June 26th) they were notified from a local resident that a dolphin was found dead on the Bang Lud Beach in the Bang Muang sub-district.

DMCR officials arrived at the beach to find the dead male striped dolphin. He was 2.10 meters long. A heavy bruise was found on the dolphin.

The dolphin was believed to have been only recently deceased. He was taken to the Sireetarn Marine Endangered Animals Rescue Center in Wichit, Phuket to find the exact cause of his death.
