Woman Arrested in Kathu for Selling Illegal Cigarettes

A woman was arrested in Kathu after she was found selling illegal cigarettes.

Officials from the Phuket Provincial Administrative Office told the Phuket Express that on Friday (June 21st) at 11:00 A.M. they inspected a shop near the Si Kor Intersection on the Wichit Songkram Road in Kathu with a search warrant issued by the Phuket Provincial Court.

They arrested a woman at the shop who presented herself as a seller. Officers seized from her 35 E-cigarettes and 2,782 boxes of illegal cigarettes. The Phuket Express noted that officers did not reveal any personal details pertaining to the woman.

She was taken to Kathu Police Station to face charges of violating the ban on the sale of any electronic cigarettes and vaping liquid products and selling cigarettes on which duty had not been paid.
