Taxi Car Damaged in Kathu After Alleged Rock-Throwing Incident

Kathu, Phuket – A taxi car sustained damage after reportedly being struck by a large rock thrown by a motorbike rider in Kathu. The incident occurred on Tuesday night, June 18th, along Wichit Songkram Road near the Golden Ville 3 housing estate.

According to the unidentified taxi driver, he was driving when a motorbike in front of him suddenly braked. In response, he also hit the brakes. However, two men on a motorbike behind him allegedly became enraged and hurled a sizable rock at his taxi. The impact shattered the back glass of the vehicle. The motorbike riders then fled the scene.

It remains unclear whether there were any passengers inside the taxi at the time of the incident. The taxi driver promptly filed a report with the Kathu Police, who are investigating the matter.

Local authorities urge anyone with information about the suspects or the incident to come forward. Meanwhile, taxi drivers in the area are expressing concern over safety and calling for increased vigilance.

As of press time Kathu police are still searching for the suspects involved.
