Chumphon, Thailand –
Two individuals have lost their lives, and 29 others have sustained various injuries following a severe road collision involving a passenger bus, a trailer truck, and two pickup trucks in the Tha Sae district of Chumphon.
The incident occurred on the night of June 16th along the Phet Kasem Road within the Tha Kham sub-district. Emergency services were dispatched to the accident site where they encountered the wreckage of the vehicles involved. The passenger bus, which was en route from Ranong to Bangkok, had collided with a trailer truck loaded with timber before being struck by two pickup trucks.
Tragically, the bus driver and a female crew member were pronounced dead at the scene. The collision also left 24 passengers and four crew members from the bus, along with one individual from one of the pickup trucks, injured. The victims were promptly transported to nearby medical facilities for treatment. Their names were not released by the authorities.
Preliminary reports from the trailer truck driver indicate that he was executing a U-turn when the bus impacted his vehicle, setting off the subsequent collisions with the pickup trucks.
Authorities are currently investigating the precise cause of this tragic accident as they work to provide support to those affected.
