Road Rage Incident Involving Pickup Truck Driver High on Meth Leads to Arrest in Phuket

Phuket –

A pickup truck driver, who later tested positive for methamphetamine, was arrested after threatening a trailer truck driver with a gun during a road rage incident in Wichit.

The Wichit Police informed the Phuket Express that they were notified of the incident via the police hotline 191 on Monday, June 10th, at 2:00 P.M. on Khwang Road. The trailer truck driver’s unidentified wife, who was a passenger, told the police that they were driving on Chao Fa West Road heading to the Dowroong Intersection.

A white pickup truck, a ‘Toyota Revo Cap’ with no license plate, jostled with the trailer truck before stopping in front of it. The pickup truck driver allegedly threatened the trailer truck driver with a gun and demanded that he get out of the vehicle. The trailer truck driver refused and drove away.

The Wichit Police immediately tracked down the pickup truck. The driver was arrested with an unmodified blank gun at 8:30 P.M. on the same day. He tested positive for methamphetamine.

The Phuket Express noted that the Wichit Police did not reveal any personal details about the pickup truck driver or the location of his arrest.
