Thalang —
At 5:30 AM on June 9th, 2024, Thalang police officers responded to an accident report involving a motorbike and a Chinese marathon runner during the Laguna Phuket Marathon 2024 at Na Muang Intersection in Thalang, Phuket.
Upon arrival, the police found a black-and-white motorbike overturned on the road while other marathon runners continued the race. The motorbike rider, publicly identified only as Ms. Waranya, was reportedly on her way to Phuket International Airport when she accidentally collided with a Chinese marathon runner, publicly identified only as Mr. Yang.
The collision resulted in Mr. Yang sustaining a head injury, while Ms. Waranya suffered injuries to her arm and face. Thalang rescue services arrived promptly and provided first aid at the scene.
Thalang police conducted an initial investigation of the accident before escorting Ms. Waranya to the police station for further legal proceedings.
