Phuket-

A sea turtle was discovered dead on a beach in Thalang, Phuket. The Department of Marine and Coastal Resources (DMCR) received a notification about the sad incident from a hotel staffer at Surin Beach in Cherng Talay on Wednesday, June 5th.

Upon arrival, they found a male green turtle measuring 48.5 centimeters in length, 47 centimeters in width, and weighing seven kilograms. Despite no external wounds, the turtle had begun to decompose.

An autopsy revealed plastic inside the turtle’s intestines, which is believed to be the cause of its death. This unfortunate incident highlights the ongoing issue of marine pollution.
