Job Applicant Arrested for Theft of iPad and Mobile Phone at Patong Restaurant

Patong-

In a swift response to a theft incident, Patong Police apprehended a suspect who stole an iPad tablet and a mobile phone from a Japanese restaurant. The establishment, located on Pracha Nukroah Road, became the scene of the crime.

The most surprising part of the story, however, is how the suspect was caught.

Early on Monday morning, June 3rd, 2024, the unidentified restaurant owner reported the stolen electronic devices to the authorities. The thief had broken into the establishment, seizing the iPad and mobile phone before making a hasty exit.

Diligent police work involved reviewing CCTV footage, which ultimately led to the identification of the suspect. On Tuesday, officers discovered that the same individual had returned to the restaurant—this time, to apply for a job!!!

It was during this poorly planned visit that the police apprehended Mr. Arron (22), no last name released, the prime suspect.

Mr. Arron confessed to pawning the stolen mobile phone for 1,500 Baht. As for the iPad, he discarded it in a nearby forest along Patong Kathu Road in Kathu. The police have charged him with theft at night, and further investigations are underway.

It was unclear why Mr. Arron decided to try to apply for a job at the same restaurant he stole from and he didn’t answer questions from the press on why he thought this would be a good idea.
