Two Chinese Men Arrested Working Illegally Installing Cable TV in Phuket

Two Chinese men and a Myanmar man were arrested after they were found installing cable TV at an apartment in Phuket Town.

The Phuket Tourist Police told the Phuket Express that on Wednesday (May 29th) they were notified by a concerned citizen that foreigners were allegedly working illegally on the roof of an apartment on the Yaowarat Road in Talad Yai sub-district.

They arrived at the scene to find foreigners installing a Chinese cable TV setup. Three of them were arrested: MR. ZHANG, 49, MR. WANG, 29, both are Chinese, and MR. CHIT, 22, a Myanmar national. Their last names were not released by Phuket tourist police.

All three men are holding tourist visas. They admitted to police that they did not have legal work permits. They were taken to the Phuket City Police Station to face charges of working without permission.

The name of the cable TV company was not released by police and it is unclear if they will be facing any charges.
