Thief Steals Money from Donation Box at Phuket Shrine

A thief allegedly stole money from a donation box at an ancient shrine in Phuket Town on Monday (May 27th).

The Phuket City Police told the Phuket Express that the representative of the Phuket Shrine Association Mr. Sirichai Weeracharttaekhwan, 24, filed a report to the police along with CCTV footage. The footage shows that at 5:00 P.M. on the day in question, an unidentified male suspect allegedly stole money from a donation box inside the Pud Jor Shrine.

The ancient shrine is located in Soi Phu Thorn, Talad Nuea sub-district. Mr. Sirichai told police that the suspect stole more than 1,000 baht from the donation box.

The Phuket City Police said they are hunting for the suspect as of press time.
