Suspects Arrested in Koh Samui E-cigarette Shops Raid

Two suspects were arrested on Samui Island after two E-cigarette shops were raided.

The Surat Thani Governor, Mr. Jessada Jittarat led the raid on Monday (May 27th). The first shop raid was in the Bophut sub-district. Ms. Rathaphon, 28, from Nakhon Si Thammarat, was arrested with illegal e-cigarettes and 4,310 Baht in cash which were seized. She was taken to the Bophut Police Station

The second shop raid was in the Mae Nam sub-district. Mr. Suthee, 34, from Surin, Northeastern Thailand, and was arrested with e-cigarettes and 123,385 Baht in cash which were also seized. He was taken to the Koh Samui Police Station.

Both of them are facing charges of violating the ban on the sale of any electronic cigarettes and vaping liquid products, as well as the illegal importation or possession of goods that are untaxed, restricted, or prohibited.
