Thai Boat Captain Tests Positive for Methamphetamine in Phuket

A Thai boat captain has tested positive for methamphetamine at a pier in Phuket.

The Thai Marine Police told the Phuket Express that earlier this week they randomly inspected a pier in Koh Kaew, Phuket City. The suspect, identified only as Mr. Nikorn, 42, a speed boat captain at a pier in Koh Kaew, tested positive for the use of methamphetamine, an illegal class one narcotic drug.

Additionally, seized from him was one methamphetamine pill. He was taken to the Phuket City Police station to face charges of illegal possession of category 1 drugs and using illegal drugs.

Thai speedboat drivers serving tourists using illegal drugs has been a major focus of the Thai Marine Police in recent times have several major incidents as seen below.
