Thalang –

A 15 year-old boy stabbed his uncle to death in Sri Sunthorn on Monday (May 27th).

The Thalang Police were notified of the incident at an apartment at 7:00 P.M. on the day in question. They and emergency responders arrived at the room and found the injured man, Mr. Somkiet Janhom, 60, who was covered in blood with stab wounds to his chest. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was unfortunately pronounced dead.

Mr. Somkiet’s relatives told police that Mr. Somkiet and Mr. E., 15, his nephew, had been arguing and the nephew had used a knife to stab his uncle. After that Mr. E went to the Thalang Police Station with his sister to surrender. Mr. E told police that his uncle always reviled him and that night he had lost his temper.

The Thalang Police told the Phuket Express that Mr. E has been charged for causing death by assault, but due to being a juvenile, will likely face lesser charges eventually.
