Turtle Rescued on Phuket Beach

Phuket –

A sea turtle was rescued at a beach in Thalang on Sunday (May 26th).

The Department of Marine and Coastal Resources (DMCR) told the Phuket Express that they were notified from a local resident that a sea turtle which was still alive was found stranded on the Nai Thon Beach. Staffers from the Sirinat National Park quickly arrived at the beach to assist the turtle.

The DMCR also later arrived at the beach to find the Hawksbill Sea turtle. It is 32.5 centimeters long, 30.5 centimeters wide and weighs 2.6 kilograms. The turtle was weak but no wound was found on his outside.

The turtle was taken to Sireetarn Marine Endangered Animals Rescue Center for further medical treatment.
