Phuket—

At 6:40 AM on May 26th, 2024, Thalang police received a report of a fatal accident involving a Philippine man on a motorbike who collided with a sign pole on Inbound Thepkasattri Road, Thalang, Phuket.

Thalang police and emergency services arrived at the scene and found a blue-gray motorbike flipped over 50 meters from the body of the victim, who had sustained a severe head injury. The victim, publicly identified only as Mr. Cruz, 38, was reportedly riding at high speed in the right lane when he lost control and collided with the sign pole on the traffic island.

Vachira Phuket Hospital physicians conducted alcohol tests and a thorough autopsy on the victim. Initial findings suggest that high speed was a significant factor in the accident. Further investigations are underway to determine if any other factors contributed to the crash.

The Philippine Embassy in Thailand has been notified to contact Cruz’s family and relatives for further proceedings.
