Phang Nga, Phuket – A tragic incident unfolded as an Indian investor was found murdered in Phang Nga, leading to the arrest of a Pakistani man and his Thai wife.
The Region 8 Police disclosed to the Phuket Express that they apprehended a 33-year-old Pakistani national and a 38-year-old Thai woman at a residence in Khok Kloi, Phang Nga. The arrests were made following an arrest warrant issued by the Phang Nga Provincial Court on May 18th, 2024.
The couple faces charges of intentional murder, illegal possession of firearms and ammunition, and carrying weapons in public without authorization. Authorities confiscated a handgun loaded with nine bullets from the suspects.
The deceased Indian man was discovered last week by the roadside in Takua Thung, with a fatal bullet wound to his head. Investigations revealed that the victim had entered Thailand on April 19th and was residing in a condominium in Wichit, Phuket. The suspects, along with the Indian man, reportedly traveled from Phuket to Phang Nga in a sedan driven by the Thai woman.
During the journey, a dispute over business matters escalated, resulting in the Pakistani man allegedly shooting the Indian investor. The suspects then abandoned the body along the roadside and concealed themselves in the house where they were eventually detained. Both suspects are currently denying all charges.
The names of the victim and the suspects were not released by Phuket police.
