The Phuket Marine Office Chief Mr. Chayaphong Pranit told the Phuket Express that they had received many complaints that there were jet-skis being used outside their permitted areas in Po Bay, Naka Island, Rang Island, and Yamu Bay.

On Saturday (May 18th) relevant officers including from the Phuket Marine Office and the Phuket Marine Police inspected beaches and seas at the Rang Yai Island and Rang Noi Island in Koh Kaew, and Yamu Bay and Po Bay in Paklok.

In total 26 jet-skis were found with no legal licenses. Jet-ski riders and operators were charged for riding and using illegal jet-skis. They shall be fined up to 10,000 Baht. Those illegal jet-skis are not allowed to be used until they receive legal licenses, added the Phuket Marine Office.

Officers also inspected ‘Jet Cars’ at the Yamu Bay after they received complaints that ‘Jet Cars’ were being used. However officers did not find any Jet Cars being used at the bay but only parked inside a shipyard. The Jet Cars operator, who wasn’t identified by the Marine Office, was informed to register their Jet Cars properly before any operation.
