Free EV Smart Bus in Phuket Old Town Launched

A free EV bus service was launched on Friday (May 17th) on Phuket Old Town routes in a trial period.

The Phuket City Development (PKCD) company announced the results of the first day of their free Phuket Smart EV Bus service. The EV bus runs along Phuket Old Town routes which they call the ‘Dragon Line’ from 11:00 A.M. to 10:00 P.M. daily.

The bus arrives at stops every 15 minutes to 30 minutes. The bus first stops opposite the Limelight Avenue (Dibuk Road) and then continues to CIMB Bank – Phuket Bus Terminal 1 on the Phang Nga Road) – Royal Phuket City Hotel – Opposite Pearl Hotel – Phuket Fresh Market 1 (Kaset Market)- Office Mate – Ko Ang Seafood Restaurant – Red Plaza – Coffee Talk (Next to SCB Bank) – Phuket Thai Hua Museum – opposite Krung Thai Bank – Islamic Bank– Mongkhol Nimit Temple – and back to Limelight Avenue.

The PKCD noted that the free Phuket Smart Bus EV on the Dragon Line in a trial period and is aimed to reduce pollution and traffic.

The launching of the bus was previously postponed from May 9th due to licensing issues that have now been resolved.
